Cardiff event streaming

A council chamber, lecture theatre and hotel ballroom are three completely different live productions.

Cardiff gives us a useful mix of public-sector, academic, corporate and large-event work. We regularly deal with the kind of events where several audiences need the same information at the same time — people in the room, staff elsewhere, invited delegates, press or the wider public.

The stream is built around what is happening, not around a fixed camera package. A university talk may need a speaker, slides and questions from the room. A corporate event may need several presenters and a private viewing page. A public meeting may need clear coverage of whoever has the floor without making the cameras the centre of attention.

We can work directly with the organiser or alongside a venue, agency or in-house AV team. Existing microphones, presentation systems and house sound can be incorporated where appropriate rather than duplicated for the sake of it.

Streams can be public, private or restricted to invited viewers. The finished programme is retained afterwards for replay, download or additional editing.

Our preferred workflow is deliberately self-contained. We normally stream through a LiveU Solo Pro, combining multiple mobile connections rather than depending entirely on venue Wi-Fi. Cameras and key equipment can also run from batteries, reducing cable runs and giving us more freedom over positions in civic buildings, universities, hotels and event spaces.

What the service can include

A complete live programme without turning the room into a television studio.

Cameras, audio, presentation sources, connectivity and recording are sized around what the Cardiff event actually needs.

Up to four camera angles

Use operated, fixed and roving cameras where they help viewers follow speakers, panels, audiences or demonstrations.

Professional sound

Take agreed feeds from house AV or use radio microphones so speeches, panels and questions remain clear online.

Slides, video & presentation feeds

Bring presentation sources directly into the programme where the room setup allows it rather than pointing a camera at the screen.

Private, public or embedded

Use restricted viewing for staff or delegates, or an agreed public platform when the event is intended for a wider audience.

Recording & further edits

Retain the complete programme and create individual talks, highlights, interviews or shorter edits afterwards where useful.

Presenter or host available

Where the format calls for it, a presenter can introduce segments, guide the programme or connect different parts of the live event.

From venue email to live programme

The useful planning starts with the room

Cardiff has everything from modern conference facilities to university rooms, civic buildings, hotels and waterfront venues. The exact room tells us what the production needs.

01

Send the venue and running order

Tell us the Cardiff venue, room, date, timings, speakers, audience and how remote viewers need to watch.

02

Plan cameras, sound and sources

We map camera positions, microphones, slides, connectivity, viewing access and any coordination needed with house AV.

03

Build and test before doors open

Pictures, sound, presentation feeds and the outgoing stream are checked before the event begins.

04

Run the stream and retain the recording

We manage the live programme while your event team runs the room, then retain the recording for replay, download or editing.

LiveU Solo Pro + battery workflow

We prefer the stream to have more than one way out of the building

A venue may have an excellent network, but guest access, firewall restrictions and the connection available at the production position are separate questions. We plan connectivity before the event rather than assuming the nearest Wi-Fi network will carry the broadcast.

Our preferred workflow uses a LiveU Solo Pro to combine multiple mobile connections for the outgoing stream. A suitable wired or venue connection can be added where useful rather than becoming the single point the broadcast depends on. Cameras and essential equipment can also run from batteries, reducing reliance on fixed power positions.

Panel & public-talk coverage

When several people have the floor, the viewer should always know where to look

Panels and public discussions are a good example of why live switching matters: the programme needs to follow the conversation rather than make the viewer hunt for whoever is speaking. We can switch from a wide-view to a close-up.

Cardiff venues & South Wales reach

City-centre meetings, university rooms, Cardiff Bay events and larger conference spaces

Cardiff University alone offers conference and event facilities across central and outlying sites, while Cardiff Bay adds hotels and flexible waterfront spaces. For larger conferences and exhibitions, ICC Wales sits just outside Cardiff with purpose-built meeting rooms, auditorium and exhibition facilities.

That range is why we ask for the exact venue and room early. Loading, parking, access times, camera sight lines, house AV, presentation feeds and network arrangements can be completely different from one Cardiff event to the next.

Already using a venue or agency AV team? Fine. We can take agreed audio and presentation feeds from them and concentrate on cameras, streaming, monitoring and recording.

CARDIFF LIVE-STREAMING FAQ

What we settle before event day

The venue, room, running order and audience requirements are usually enough to identify the important technical questions quickly.

Do you rely on venue Wi-Fi?

No. Our preferred workflow uses LiveU Solo Pro with multiple mobile connections. A suitable wired or venue connection can be incorporated where useful, but we prefer not to make the broadcast depend on a single network.

Can you work with Cardiff venue or university AV teams?

Yes. We can coordinate agreed audio and presentation feeds with an in-house AV team while we manage cameras, streaming, monitoring and recording.

Can presentation slides appear directly in the stream?

Yes. Where the event setup allows it, slides, videos and other presentation sources can be taken directly into the live programme so remote viewers see them clearly.

Can the stream be private or restricted?

Yes. Private viewing options are available for staff, delegates, members or other invited audiences. Public and website-embedded streams are also possible where appropriate.

Do we receive the recording afterwards?

Yes. The complete live programme is retained for replay or download, and individual talks, highlights, interviews or shorter edits can be produced afterwards when required.
